ABOUT US

The club was started by cousins Grant ‘Ken’ Britton & Paul ‘Bones’ Jones in 2021 following the pandemic. After using The Wave, Bristol to dust off the cobwebs following months of lockdown, an instagram page was created asking for local bodyboard enthusiasts to get in contact. It wasn’t long before likeminded local frothers Jon Elliott, Chaz Ford, Grant Warren, Frederico Ferreira and Nick Foxwell were in touch. The page gained followers & with that the core of the club was created. Since then it’s grown rapidly with more enthusiastic boogers joining regularly and adding to the already positive nature of the club.
We now proudly boast over 160 paid members from all parts of the UK. Bristol Bodyboarders Club is open to all genders and levels of experience from first-timers to tricksters.

In May 2022 we took the decision to affiliate the club with Surfing England becoming the first recognised regional bodyboard club in England.

We meet on a monthly basis as a club, with meets predominantly held at The Wave, Bristol. However we do hold coastal meets which are usually dependant on swell/weather conditions. Our meets are very much a community vibe with members families regularly attending and enjoying the day.

Each year we hold our anniversary meet to celebrate the clubs inauguration. The anniversary meet gives us a chance to celebrate members through the year who have excelled in pushing the sport and themselves by way of an awards ceremony. Each member is open to cast a vote on who they feel fits the bill to take each award. Held every May its a perfect chance to celebrate the start of the warmer months.

If you are a keen bodyboarder or someone that wishes just to get into something new then get in contact with us.
